Teachers-info (english only)
| In our workshops we are working with 45
minutes themes. We choose sentences students can fill in or make drawings in our
webdrawingboard-lessons. After a weblesson of 45 minutes Greet sends the art, the chat and
some additional information to the students. Greet has always a small group of severly ill
children and young people. They work one-on-one with her, sometimes only for a few
moments. But those moments are very important for them. Because it is so complicated to
explain all the medical circumstances, we call them Amis-Amies eGroup. According to a
French saying: "Les Amis de mes Amis". it means; "My friends are your
friends." Amis is "friends" for boys; Amies is "friends" for
girls. It is giving our Amis-Amies much satisfaction to be connected to a webcommunity;
seeing their webwork integrated in the projects they feel acknowledge and important by
contributing to a larger world. The Dutch name of Mayor Koopmanschap is so long and difficult for our students: she allows us to call her "Mayor Amy" - her first name. Agnieszka's students and the students in Kavor worked on their own ICT-platforms in the school or on the web. The results were put in the eTwinning-space or send by email to Greet, who compiled it together. Every step in the workshop was always shown to all the members of the eXpo. The webletters were send to the teachers, they themselves or the older students translated the upperside of the webletter in their native-language. So everybody in the group could understand the meaning of the webletters. For the older students 12+ it was a good excercise in English and the younger students 6+ could as well enjoy the art as the text. PM: When you scroll-down in the English-page in Wikipedia one can find - at the left side - the entrance to several languages. So all the students could find the information in their native language - when needed. |
