Macadam MixTalent Conference – Town Hall, Diemen - Holland, may 8th 2009
Celebrating 10 years Webducation students with special needs

To celebrate the tenth anniversary of the Macadam WebStudio a tutorial conference is taking place in the Town Hall in Diemen - the Netherlands, may 8th 2009. Topics are: Durable eMoments and Building Bridges between Worlds. The Macadam WebStudio is offering webeducation and e-learning to students around the world who have physical challenges, chronic diseases, are homebound or in hospital. Founder of this project is Greet Meesen from Diemen, herself handicapped from childhood on. Guest of honor of the conference is mr. Herman Wijffels

Purpose of the conference is turning attention to the importance of webeducation. Developments in durable webeducation & elearning and the contribution of the Macadam WebStudio will be described in several lectures. Guest speaker about developments in Europe is mrs. Marleen Spierings. Mayor Koopmanschap of Diemen is handing out MixTalent Tokens of Honor to main representatives on several continents. Part of the conference is the presentation of the eBook for Students and the results of the teachers-webconference: “Durable eMoments.” Guest of honor mr. Wijffels will co-sign the eCertificate for students as well as the first webbrevet for eTeachers. The participants of the conference – teachers, staffmembers and students representatives –  are receiving a jubileebox with DVD’s.

The conference is hosted by mayor Koopmanschap: Friday, may 8th 2009, in the Town Hall in Diemen – The Netherlands - 14.00 uur to 16.30 hrs. Mayor Koopmanschap is patroness of the celebration theme: “Durable WebEducation for Students with physical Challenges & Medical Needs.” The conference is organized by Stichting Macadam Mixed Talent Conferentie. During the past ten years the Macadam Webstudio tutored hundreds of students – aged 6 to 21. Macadam is member of MyEurope SchoolsNetwork EUN, is guidance counselor of the European eTwinning project “MixTalent Troubadours, which involves hospital schools and special educational institutions in Belgium, Greece, Poland, The Netherlands, The Czech Republic, Turkey, United Kingdom and Roemenia. Macadam is ongoing project in ePALS USA: a screened platform for professional educational developments. Furthermore is Macadam ‘International Liaison Organization’ for Bearable Times: The Kids Hospital Network in the USA. Macadam also participates in Kavor, an independent Israeli distance learning organization for hospitalized students which involves 20 hospitals and includes both Israeli as well as Arab teachers.
