About our “Landscape of Tolerance and Diversity”

Greet’s open letter to teachers, webcolleagues & volunteers of the Macadam-MixTalent Webworkshop

 

Dear MixTalent Friends,

In 2008 we are celebrating the 10th anniversary of our project.

 

The central theme of this celebration is: Durable WebEducation & eLearning for Students with Physical Challenges & Medical Needs’

 

“Durable eLearning” is eLearning experience on the basis of web-based programs, providing elearning experiences on which students may also draw on later in their lives.

 

With the students I like to celebrate this anniversary by “A landscape of Tolerance and diversity.” For me tolerance has been always very important. Living from childhood with physical limits; giving and getting room to others and myself made it possible to develop and grow. Wondering “why, how – to try” , is for me, the root of Tolerance and Diversity. That’s why I have choosen this theme to celebrate our 10th anniversary.  Everybody is working on the same topics, according to age/possibilities/interest.

 

Program: Landscape of Tolerance and Diversity

In november 2008 we will present our Landscape as a free eBook to the world again - as we did in 2007 with the MixTalent-Troubadours eBook. Mayor Amy Koopmanschap will help me to organise a special event around this presentation. And all participants will receive a Celebration-certificate.

 

We have already developed the following themes:

 

-         Decorate our landscape of Tolerance or design a drawing of your own landscape of Tolerance and/or diversity

-         to celebrate the Childrens Rights: Make a candle for someone or something

-         Courage-art:

-        

-         Freedom bij inventions

 

As always: choose the topics which can be relevant and interesting for your students. And please send your idea’s and suggestions to me, so we all are able to be a benefit to eachothers students. No pressure in our MixTalent WebWorkshop. Our aim is: a MixTalent-path of thinking+feeling+doing=being active. Keeping the wondering and learning, the development of our personalities going. That can be difficult when you are in hospital, recovering at home, or in the transitions of taking part of a fully functioning daily life again. The core of our eLearning-program is: with minimun physical energy maximum social activitiy - intellectual and emotional mobility.

In september I will make more topics available. April 2009 I compile the eBook. I can’t make music and my singing-skills are terrible. So I am very happy Nevin and the colleagues Serap, Neriman and Rečep from Okulu Inegöl, our MixTalent-Team in Turkey, offered to help with music and songs for the eBook. In may 2009 we will have the final event of our celebrationyear and I will try to be “your voice” in the international community.
